-- PC Fair Aug's catch

It's big time software purchase this time round. Got news from lowyat.net (Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 Now More Affordable) that... yeah, basically what the article title says.

Office 2007 Home and Student Edition
  • Old price - RM499
  • New permanently marked down price - RM279
  • Discounted price for Aug and Sept - RM199
  • 1st hundred price for PC Fair- RM99
  • Comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote 2007
  • License to install up to 3 PCs
By not going to Friday's PC Fair, i officially kiss the 1st hundred price goodbye, so i got it for RM199 instead. Still, I saw others snap up a few of them together.
So... this is a good chance to own original Office (2007 at that!) at an affordable price, unless your uni offers it at a lower student price.

Other than that, got an el cheapo Logitech wired mouse (with frickin' laser!) at Rm38 (for gaming and just-in-case Bluetooth doesn't work cases) and a MicroSD card reader that you can get for FREE from the Intel booth by answering a simple question (worth RM19 from what i saw at the lower Halls).

Other than Jensen, Richard (from KTAR times and also UTAR currently) is also working, as Intel's bunny suit man holding a Core 2 Duo processor.

That's the core of your C2D, underneath the grey colored heat spreader.

Very cool...

And sorry, no pic of Ric in the suit, he'd kill me for that. And no hot chicks' pic too. You can get that from lowyat.net forums. Instead you get to look at KLCC ballroom's marvellous lighting.

Ric took it.

Not forgetting also, the other gang over at Chong Qing. This is the kind of group photo that Hilly gang was lacking last night... haha.

(N82 fails big time at night shots, over-de-noised reduced the sharpness a lot)

-- Last Wednesday...

... specially sat LRT to Wangsa Maju to celebrate my KTAR pal, Ji Keat's (a.k.a. Chris) one week late birthday... as an apology tongue . Was just too busy the last week.

Had a simple "evening tea" at one of the cafes along Jalan Genting Klang (there's "thousands" of them over there, and I didn't went (or knew) to a single one of them during my KTAR year *fail* smack).

This set (including the cincau drink on the left and yellow jelly pudding on the right) cost only RM9.90... sans 5% gov tax and 5% service tax. Only the rice portion needs complaining.

Kinda nice to meet up with them improptu-ly since the only other time we do meet up is semester holidays wink... though I ended up feeling dead tired when I reach home... tsk tsk. I think I've intro-ed my KTAR pals before... but here it goes again...

Sze Ling (12 years old), Li Ying (3.85+/4.0 (President's List) no.1), Chee Wei (3.85+/4.0 no.2, drifts a Kenari)

Esther (erm... I don't tease her), Ji Keat (Single and might be dating), Richard (Single and targeting N*****).

After the little gathering, still have to sit bus home from PJ Hilton stop, at night... and whaddya know... there's a "fog" surrounding the stop. Slipped out my N82, and the "fog" particles clogged my lens badly...

... well... no... tongue. I just forgot to turn off flash, and snapped away. All those dust particles are really good at bouncing off lights.

-- Last week Wednesday...

...was the SHOKPO (semester-holiday-obligatory-KTAR pals'-outing) nod.
Very "fortunately", it clashes with my first CCNA extra class. mad
And THEN, due to "unforseen circumstances", I need to watch IronMan for the 2nd time... which luckily I didn't mind that much. wink

It was a very normal outing, no big deal... except I waited very very very long for the other half of the group to arrive so we can have dinner together. My stomach was practically aching already before arriving at RasaMas (you know, Ayamas chicken rice sets...).

Here's a pic of everyone else having dinner at RasaMas. Attendance for this semester's outing is very good clap. I count... 10 heads, and could've been more (BK smack).

Since it was too early to go home after dinner, we decided to watch a midnight movie, show time - 11.45am (but this is just quite too late for my taste sweat). More than 3 hours of nothing-to-do (if I remember correctly)... and I was running low on cash (left with a little bit more than RM10 after buying the ticket).

A group pose before we went for the movie. The sloping height is purely coincidence... hahaha...

And this is the midnight movie - 口裂け女 (kuchisake onna) or Slit-mouth Woman. Horror midnight movies is a must eh?

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usFor those of you who are scared of watching horror movies, the image below won't be the only reason you SHOULDN'T watch this movie.

Let me tell you why...

This slit mouth lady here looks scary and cuts people by the side of the mouth with scissors. But there's also something else she loves to do... kick people...

Sometimes... she doesn't go for the kill, and prefers to kick the victim in the abdomen... smack.
You get full Dolby Surround *tud*tud* effects too... woohoo. OMG... everyone was laughing at that scene...

Anyway, this whole show is a B grade horror movie (with a monster that can be unintentionally funny). The build-up or tension to those horror scenes just wasn't there. And I was sleeping during the early parts coz the pace is just too slow... yawn

(waaaargh... check out mah teeth... way up to the molars easily)

To ease things off a bit... let's take a look at The Gardens' high class toilet.

Proximity sensor attached taps... woohoo.
