-- Lil update on myself

Got lazy to update for a while... since there's just so many things to do during the holidays... tongue

Reason 1, Company of Heroes: Gold Edition (which includes the expansion).
Original... and... only Rm39.90!!??

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

You don't get it this cheap anywhere else!! Even on Steam it's $29.90.
It's only 1 year old, and it's one of the best RTS out there... can't get any better than this.

The distributor for this is Replay Interactive, a Singapore company. How did they managed to convince THQ to reduce it to this price is a wonder to me...

Have it delivered to you by...
PC Game.com >> http://www.pcgame.com.my/product_info.php?products_id=2243&osCsid=1c1688d0fdea76ca569f998bc5e239be (where i bought) or
The Software Boutique >> http://www.tsb.com.my/product.cfm?id=522

Reason 2, Left 4 Dead.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usA zombie apocalypse game, where you and 3 other mates (AI or real human) wade and gun through zombies to get rescued.

The DEMO itself is already so addictive that i managed to clock lots of hours a day from it's 7-day only demo release. The co-op online play is just amazing...

From the makers of Half-life - VALVe.

But the actual team amongst VALVe that developed it is Turtle Rock Studios, i think, which are the original makers of Counter Strike.

The 4 Survivors. Bill, Louis, Francis, and Zoey.

Back facing a wall is better than back getting ripped by zombies...

Zombie "boss" - Witch.
Nicknamed - emogirl, coz you can hear her weep when approaching... together with creepy music.

Zombie "boss" - Hunter.
Leaps from faraway and pins you down, and rips your guts out... literally.

Reason 3, I'm designing a new look for this blog tongue. About time.

-- Kratos, Old Snake, Sephiroth, Sacked

Still remember Little Big Planet coming to the PS3? It's shaping up really nicely now as one of (the few) PS3's must have titles... (combined with Hachune Miku "awesomeness" :P)

But still, only backdrops... meh. My dream of seeing or controling a Hachune Miku running around in the world will never be fulfilled...

But Kratos... hmm...

Yeap, Kratos gets the Sackboy treatment.

But why stop there!? Rope in Old snake and Sephiroth too...

And also Nariko (Sackgirl here) from Heavenly Sword...

...so you can deal some MASSIVE DAMAGE in Little Big Planet too.

Sry, just a little Internet meme there on Heavenly Sword tongue (which made it into the game itself).

-- Little things to be proud of...

...in my case... Malaysia in the tech world.

- AMD -
A few years ago, AMD users are always proud of having the fastest processors around, but not anymore, ever since Intel's Core 2 Duo came out.
But never mind, Malaysians can have something else to be proud of... proud of the fact that real shots of the processors always show that they're Made in Malaysia. thumbsup

Possible benefits? slightly cheaper? hahaha

- Game Engine -
A game engine is the core component of a game (PC/consoles alike) - or basically the underlying technology which allows easier development ... ... and read wikipedia's definition instead >>. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_engine.

Famous engines include Epic Games' Unreal engine 1, 2 and 3 (*very very very widely used*), Valve's Source engine (Half Life 2), Crytek's CryEngine2 (Crysis).

And here comes a new engine called Dunia for the game Far Cry 2.

Well, the name doesn't really have anything to do with Malaysia actually... hahaha... no contribution from Malaysia - nil. NOR will it be used to render a virtual Malaysia, nope. It's just that the engine is given a Malay name... lol, but befitting the engine though, as it looks great at creating a virtual "dunia". nod

- No fee FREE -
Lastly, something we can be more proud of... or maybe just half proud of - churning out FREE MMORPG to the world. rolleyes

June's PC Gamer US (not MY) specially mentioned Korea and Malaysia as "flooding the web with more and more no-fee games every day - many of which are archaic, incomprehensible, or just plain bad". Plain bad eh, I gotta agree. I guess this makes it only a quarter to be proud of.

And... add to the fact that Korea (and to a much lesser extent China) are the true countries that are developing these games, and not Malaysia (we're just localizers), that leaves us with nothing to be proud of... smack.
