Take care, Jo. Cya back at here, safe and sound again next year. And remember to properly tell us, instead of watching tennis at home... (oh noes, i is graduate liao by then)
... still need to sue someone. (sry, Jensen, photo repeat)
Even samtapsi here is feeling sad about it. (Thanks so much for this wacky gift Siew Wen! Luckily it survived Wen Di's abuse...)
Steamy 9P photos... i love em...
...gives me a warm fuzzy family feeling. (me emo? no... i just had to write something about the pics... :P)
Fresh food... (thanks, Jen, for the nice closeup)
Thrashed food. (unfortunately, I didn't eat a lot at the there. forgot bout leaving my stomach empty and filled myself up with too much pasar malam food before going there)
Not forgetting also, the other gang over at Chong Qing. This is the kind of group photo that Hilly gang was lacking last night... haha. (N82 fails big time at night shots, over-de-noised reduced the sharpness a lot) kthnxbai
... specially sat LRT to Wangsa Maju to celebrate my KTAR pal, Ji Keat's (a.k.a. Chris) one week late birthday... as an apology . Was just too busy the last week.
Had a simple "evening tea" at one of the cafes along Jalan Genting Klang (there's "thousands" of them over there, and I didn't went (or knew) to a single one of them during my KTAR year *fail* ).
This set (including the cincau drink on the left and yellow jelly pudding on the right) cost only RM9.90... sans 5% gov tax and 5% service tax. Only the rice portion needs complaining.
Kinda nice to meet up with them improptu-ly since the only other time we do meet up is semester holidays ... though I ended up feeling dead tired when I reach home... tsk tsk. I think I've intro-ed my KTAR pals before... but here it goes again...
Sze Ling (12 years old), Li Ying (3.85+/4.0 (President's List) no.1), Chee Wei (3.85+/4.0 no.2, drifts a Kenari)
Esther (erm... I don't tease her), Ji Keat (Single and might be dating), Richard (Single and targeting N*****).
After the little gathering, still have to sit bus home from PJ Hilton stop, at night... and whaddya know... there's a "fog" surrounding the stop. Slipped out my N82, and the "fog" particles clogged my lens badly... ... well... no... . I just forgot to turn off flash, and snapped away. All those dust particles are really good at bouncing off lights.
Now, I may not like MacBooks that much, but I would still respect a tech device... well... as a tech device.
Here's Rahul Sood, founder of Voodoo PC and CTO of HP's global gaming business (note the T-shirt)... cutting his birthday cake using a working MBA.
Making chocolate gunk stuck in a perfectly fine device is not fine with me. I'm sure Steve Jobs would like a repay the favour, but any HP would squash a cake...
Episode 12 and 13 of Ho Chak!, aired four and three weeks ago (it was 3 and 2 weeks ago when i started this post... lol), what's so special about them?
吧生肉骨茶!(Klang bak kut teh).
But ofcoz, the 2 whole episodes are not just about bak kut teh, but the foods in Klang. Places covered include one-place-that-i-dunno, Taman Rashna, Taman Berkeley and Teluk Gong. Each episode has 3 parts, and unfortunately their first stop in Episode 12 is the place-that-i-dunno. However, their fried pai kut (pork ribs) looks really good, must try >> Ho Chak! Episode 12 1st stop .
EPISODE 12
But more importantly, 2nd stop, Taman Rashna! At the other end of the Teluk Pulai and Weng Heong is Chui Moon 聚满 - famous for their herbal steamed fish.
I've eaten their xiu yok rice 烧肉饭 many times before (which is bland bad), and I never knew about their specialty . My family just so happened to went there last Saturday, and tried out the dishes (which I forgot to take pictures of coz i was too hungry).
Ordered their : 1) “一片一片切薄薄的鸡肉”, lol (which turned out to be really crispy CHICKEN BACON, this one is good), 2) 四大天王 (in Canto - sei dai tin wong / 4 diff veges cooked together. ma ma dei), and 3) Herbal steamed fish (back part. i don't eat fish head).
Yes, i can verify that the herbal steamed fish is good! yum yum. The sauce is definitely not like the normal "kicap" saltiness that you get from a normal steam fish dish. Don't know how to describe this taste, but you just need to know it's good :P .
BUT... guess how much these 3 dishes cost? RM70+ (including 4 rice + 3 extra rice(加饭) & 2 barley, 2 leung sui).
3rd stop, also Taman Rashna - Weng Heong 永香! I wonder how did they decide upon which of the 3 bak kut teh shops who are right next to each other to go to. And they even made sure that Teluk Pulai was not captured on screen... hahaha.
Any of you know that their signboard - 永香海参瓦煲肉骨茶 says Weng Heong Sec Cucumber Hotpot(?) Bak Kut Teh. Yeah, I didn't realize their specialty is sea cucumber. Now that I know, must try.
EPISODE 13
For Episode 13, first stop, Berkeley's 面粉果 (bi hun ge). I had a very late dinner at this shop before, and I must say, their hand made bihun-ge is good. But too bad their soup is rather lacking, just saltiness. But that doesn't stop this little shop from becoming famous and thriving.
Next stop, and just a few shops over... 宝香绑线肉古茶 (literally, Bao Xiang string tied bak kut teh). Specialty - tied up bak-s. The few times passing by this shop, me and my mom was wondering whether this is a specialty of Klang bak kut teh... but seems like it's just this shop.
The "chef" claims that by tying the meat up, it'll "force out" the "oils". And so, when customers eat them, they'll feel more "relaxed". lolol. Literal translation.
Anyway, still doesn't look really special to me. Anyone with experience want to share? If I ever eat at there and feel that the pork is oily, i'm gonna need Jo services and sue them for false claims...
hahaha, anyway, the 3rd stop is Teluk Gong, which unfortunately is SEAFOOD!! One of the dish that was introduced is... 啦啦炒米粉 (la la fried bi hun). Unfortunately, I dont eat seafood (except fish)... watch it here >> Ho Chak! Episode 13 3rd stop
